About Me

Welcome! I'm an experienced science writer, editor and media relations expert based in Seattle.

During 18 years working in the University of Washington's central news office I publicized a myriad of research discoveries in fields ranging from bioengineering to robotics, and from climate change to zoology. My experience covered a broad range of institutional communications functions at a world-class research university.

I trained in the science communications graduate program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and worked as a freelance science writer before joining the UW. Before that I studied science at Canadian universities.

Currently open to new opportunities in writing, editing and communications at the intersection of science, medicine and technology.
